Unter den Augen von von Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. Sabine Kunst, Ministerin für Wissenschaft und Kultur des Landes Brandenburg, sowie Mr. Ralf Christoffers, Minister für Wirtschaft und Europaangelegenheiten, wurde der Neubau in einer feierlichen Zeremonie vom Präsidenten der Universität Potsdam, Prof. Oliver Günther, PhD und dem Dekan der Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftliche Fakultät, Prof. Dr. O'Brien für die Forschung freigegeben.

Hier die offizielle Mitteilung von innoFSPEC Potsdam:

Opening ceremony of the new innoFSPEC lab and offices in Golm

On last 27th January 2014 at Potsdam University Campus in Golm the new building for third party funded projects (Drittmittelgebäude, Haus 29, total cost ca. 21 M€) has been officially inaugurated by the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Patrick O’Brien, and the President of the University of Potsdam, Prof. Oliver Günther, Ph.D. The opening ceremony included welcoming addresses of the Minister of Science, Research and Culture of Brandenburg, Prof. Dr. -Ing. Dr. Sabine Kunst, and the Minister for Economic and European Affairs of the State of Brandenburg, Mr. Ralf Christoffers.
The new building partly fulfils the pressing need of Potsdam University for additional space and new laboratory facilities on the University of Potsdam campus at in Golm. The building is specifically dedicated to R&D programmes and projects that are supported by third party public and/or private funding. Present and future researchers as well as students will benefit from an environment expressly designed for high-level multi-disciplinary, intersectorial research in photonics, biology, chemistry and cognitive sciences.
It will profoundly benefit present and future researchers involved in several multi-disciplinary projects promoting research and developments that are supported by third party public and/or private funding. Moreover the students will also benefit from the environment expressly designed for high-level intersectorial research in photonics, biology, chemistry and cognitive sciences.
A special feature of the new building (total cost ca. 21 M€) consists in a the state of the art innoFSPEC photonics laboratory expanding on a total area of ca. 120m2., This laboratory, which provides laminar flow units for clean room conditions and which that can be separated in three rooms sections that are fully isolated from mechanical vibrations, to enables sophisticate experimental work on laser spectroscopy and photonics. Theis lab will host new equipment of more than 2 M€ for ultrafast laser techniques (Ultrafast Laser Inscription) and multiplex Raman spectroscopy from a strategic BMBF- investment grant to innoFSPEC Potsdam in 2013/14.
In October 2013, a new interdisciplinary Multiplex Raman Spectroscopy (MRS) group has been originated (1.5 M€, 2013 – 2016), funded by a prestigious grant from the prestigious BMBF VIP-program (“Validierung des Innovationspotenzials wissenschaftlicher Forschung”). The MRS group that will be taking full advantage of the facilities provided by the new building, thus further consolidating the scientific progress and growth of innoFSPEC achieved in the past years.
