Herstellung und Charakterisierung von Nanopartikeln definierter Form und Größe
Der Schwerpunkt der Forschungsarbeiten in der AG Kolloidchemie konzentriert sich auf die Bildung und Stabilisierung von Nanopartikeln definierter Form und Größe in unterschiedlichen Lösungsmitteln und Templatphasen unter Verwendung von Polyelektrolyten.
Goldnanopartikelbildung in wässriger Lösung
Polykationen [31, 37], Polyanionen [28] und Polyampholyte [34] können als Reduktions- und Stabilisierungsagens bei der Herstellung von Goldnanopartikeln definierter Form und Größe eingesetzt werden. Die resultierenden Goldnanopartikel sind elektrosterisch stabilisiert und können bei der Verwendung von zuckermodifizierten Polyethyleniminen (PEI) [44] auf Partikelgrößen kleiner
4 nm eingestellt werden.
Goldnanopartikelbildung in ionischen Flüssigkeiten
In Analogie zum wässrigen System kann die Goldnanopartikelbildung in Gegenwart von PEI auch in ionischen Flüssigkeiten durchgeführt werden [45]. Die entstehenden Goldnanopartikel mit einer mittleren Partikelgröße zwischen 5 und 7nm können in Chloroform redispergiert und über eine kovalente Bindungsknüpfung in Elektroden eingebaut werden [45].
Nanopartikelbildung in Templatphasen
Mikroemulsionen
Wasser-in-Öl Mikroemulsionströpfchen können als Nanoreaktorraum für die Partikelbildung genutzt werden. Wie bereits unter Punkt II aufgeführt können Polyelektrolyte in die Wassertröpfchen eingebracht werden, ohne dass makroskopisch Phasentrennung einsetzt. Die polyelektrolyt-modifizierten Mikroemulsionen können als Templatphase direkt für die Nanopartikelbildung eingesetzt werden [18,27,29,31,34-36,38-42].
Dabei können die Polyelektrolyte als Reduktionsmittel bei der Goldnanopartikelbildung [31,34,38] oder aber als Stabilisierungsagens bei der CdS [30,40,42],BaSO4 [18,27,29,39,41], Magnetit [35] und Zinksulfidherstellung agieren [36]. Die Polyelektrolyte sind bei der Redispergierung der Nanopartikel nach der vollständigen Entfernung der Lösungsmittel von besonderer Bedeutung und verhindern eine Aggregation der einzelnen Nanopartikel.
Vesikelphasen
Die Goldnanopartikelbildung kann auch direkt an der Oberfläche von gemischten Phospholipidvesikeln stattfinden, wobei neben spherischen Goldpartikeln auch Dreiecke und Stäbchen entstehen [33]. In Gegenwart von zuckermodifiziertem PEI entstehen bevorzugt Stäbchen und Dreiecke, was insbesondere auf das Polykation zurückzuführen ist [43]. Die Nanopartikelbildung direkt in der Bilayer-Phase führt dagegen zur verstärkten Ausbildung von Stäbchen [32]. Neueste Arbeiten (DFG-Projekt KO 1387/14-1) zeigen, dass in Gegenwart von Polyampholyten (PalPhBisCarb) der Anteil an Nanodreiecken optimiert werden kann und deren Abtrennung gelingt [46].

Hydrogele
Polyelektrolyt-modifizierte Nanopartikel können auch in Hydrogele eingebracht bzw. direkt im Hydrogel gebildet werden [47].
